This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) discloses the privacy practices for The Carbonauts Corporation (“Carbonauts”).  This Privacy Policy applies to information collected by The Carbonauts’ website located at https://www.thecarbonauts.com/ and The Carbonauts Web Application located at https://calculator.thecarbonauts.com/ (the “Services”).  This Privacy Policy is designed to help you understand how we collect, use and safeguard the personal information you provide to us and to assist you in making informed decisions when using our Services.

Carbonauts collects personally identifiable information (PII) through our Services. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:

Carbonauts only has access to the PII that you voluntarily provide through our Services.  Carbonauts will use your PII to respond to you regarding the reason you contacted us, for instance, sending you our newsletter, providing our services to you, and communicating with you. • We may use Email Marketing Service Providers to manage and send emails to You.

Payments
We may provide paid products and/or services within the Service. In that case, we may use third-party services for payment processing (e.g. payment processors).

We will not store or collect Your payment card details. That information is provided directly to Our third-party payment processors, whose use of Your personal information is governed by their Privacy Policy. These payment processors adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of payment information.

Your Access To And Control Over Your Information
We use your PII to provide our services to you.  You may opt-out of any future communications from us at any time by sending us an email at info@carbonauts.com.  In addition, (i) you may request a copy of the information that we have collected about you; (ii) you may request that we change or update your information; and (iii) you may request that we delete any part of your information.

2. PII RESTRICTIONS

Carbonauts’ services are restricted to persons who are 18 years of age or older.  If we, however, inadvertently collect any PII from someone under the age of 18 (a “Child”), then the Child’s parent or legal guardian has the right to inspect their Child’s PII that Carbonauts collected to assure it is accurate or to amend it.  If you are a parent or legal guardian of a Child and you become aware that your Child has provided Carbonauts with PII without your consent, you should contact us via email at info@carbonauts.com.  Parents always have the right to inspect any information that Carbonauts may have inadvertently collected from their Child and have the right to have Carbonauts edit or delete it.

3. SECURITY 

The Internet is not an established secure environment for communications.  As such, we continually review and apply commercially reasonable practices to protect and secure the Internet channels used within our systems.  Accordingly, Carbonauts takes commercially reasonable precautions to protect your PII. When you submit sensitive information via our Services, your information is protected both online and offline.  Wherever Carbonauts collects PII, that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the Web page.  While Carbonauts uses encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your PII offline. Only employees who need your PII to perform a specific job are granted access to your PII.  The computers/servers in which we store your PII are kept in a secure environment.  However, these measures do not guarantee that your information will not be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed by unauthorized persons who breach our security procedures.  By providing your PII to us, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to assume these inherent risks.

Data Controller for the Facebook Fan Page
The Carbonauts is the Data Controller of Your Personal Data collected while using the Service. As operator of the Facebook Fan Page https://www.facebook.com/WeTheCarbonauts, The Carbonauts and the operator of the social network Facebook are Joint Controllers.

The Carbonauts has entered into agreements with Facebook that define the terms for use of the Facebook Fan Page, among other things. These terms are mostly based on the Facebook Terms of Service: https://www.facebook.com/terms.php

Facebook Insights
We use the Facebook Insights function in connection with the operation of the Facebook Fan Page and on the basis of the GDPR, in order to obtain anonymized statistical data about Our users.

For this purpose, Facebook places a Cookie on the device of the user visiting Our Facebook Fan Page. Each Cookie contains a unique identifier code and remains active for a period of two years, except when it is deleted before the end of this period.

Facebook receives, records and processes the information stored in the Cookie, especially when the user visits the Facebook services, services that are provided by other members of the Facebook Fan Page and services by other companies that use Facebook services.
